The Republic of South Africa is a country, located in southern Africa. It consists of nine provinces, has almost 2,800 km of coastline and borders the countries of Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Swaziland, while surrounding the Kingdom of Lesotho. South Africa has a lot to offer in terms of sights and things to do. There are many areas with wild animals, which can be observed in their natural habitat. Other nature sights include Table Mountain National Park in Cape Town, the Garden Route in the Western Cape Province, Tsitsikamma in the Eastern Cape, Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park, Robben Island, and Cape Winelands. Activities throughout the country include diving and river rafting. South Africa offers diverse cuisine options that have been influenced by different cultures, such as native African, British, German, Portuguese, Dutch, Indian, Malay. Transport Information

Getting to South Africa by plane is possible through ten international airports. The largest of these are the Cape Town International Airport and Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport. The country is also accessible by car and boat (cruise lines like Princess Cruises). South Africa’s well-established highway system makes it easy to travel across the country by car or caravan. The N1 highway is the county’s main road link between Cape Town and Johannesburg, also passing by Pretoria on its way to the Zimbabwean border. Getting around the country is possible by plane, with well-established links between domestic airports. There is also bus and train service throughout the country. South Africa’s Metrorail operates in the major cities and long-distance trains, like the luxury Blue Train (from Cape Town to Johannesburg), provide inter-city links.
