A county in the north west of England, Merseyside is home to the vibrant and exciting city of Liverpool and takes its name from the River Mersey. Located on the banks of the Irish Sea, Merseyside has a number of places of interest such as the home of Liverpool FC, Anfield, which in the city of Liverpool. Goodison Park, the home of Everton FC, is also a crowd-puller while the Merseyside Maritime Museum, The Beatles Story Museum, Knowsley Hall, Langtree Park and Lady Lever Art Gallery are popular attractions as well. Wirral County Park is a major part of the local landscape as are Knowsley Safari Park and the International Slavery Museum. This is a county that is packed with historical and cultural attractions as well as unique towns and cities with charm and character.

Business Information

This county is filled with office space and retail units providing a base for many businesses and professions. The county is home to the likes of solicitors, doctors, builders, website development firms and architectural agencies. Graphic designers, publishing houses, utility service providers, and government’s administrative offices can also be found here. A number of major companies have their offices in Merseyside, such as HSBC, Lloyds, Barclays and JPMorgan. Merseyside is a hub for entertainment with places like Anfield and Goodison Park hosting football matches for Liverpool FC and Everton FC, respectively. The Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool is a great place for live music while Southport Little Theatre hosts some extravagant stage productions. Plaza Cinema is a great place for film-buffs and the Everyman Playhouse has a variety of live acts throughout the year. Eating out in Merseyside is equally as exciting with places like Spire serving modern European cuisine alongside Bistrot Verite, which has fine French food on the menu. The Golden Horses serves up tasty Chinese food while Havin has a wide selection of Turkish dishes on offer. From Moroccan cuisine and Indian food to Italian and traditional British dishes, there is something to cater for every palate in Merseyside.

Transport Information

Merseyside has an impressive massive transport network that includes major motorways including the M6, M53, M57, and M68. The A580 and A41 also pass through the county as do many other major road-channels, which provide convenience and ease for those using ground transportation. Liverpool has its own Rapid Transit system while Liverpool John Lennon Airport is one of the busiest international airports in the country. The Merseyrail network has a number of stations including Southport Railway Station, Liverpool Lime Street Railway Station and St. Helens Central Railway Station. The Port of Liverpool is one of the many major sea-ports along the Irish Sea, offering another mode of transport in the county.
