A small town in the county of Wiltshire, Malmesbury is also the name of the borough where in which the town is located and is one of the oldest boroughs in the country. The town was built around Malmesbury Abbey and was a centre of education in its time. Examples of historic forms of architecture and timber construction can still be seen in and around the town. Malmesbury Market Cross and Tower House are some of the popular landmarks in the area. The area has been home to a number of prominent people including James Constable and Thomas Hobbes.

Chippenham, Kemble and Swindon railway stations are the nearest train links for Malmesbury, operating along the Great Western Main Line. A number of local bus companies and coach-services pass through the area with the A429 road passing right through the town-centre. The B4040 and B4014 also run into the town. For those requiring air travel links, a number of smaller airports, like Kemble Airport and Hullavington Airfield are quite near and the closest major airport is Bristol Airport.
