The town of Wallington is located in the borough of Sutton, about 10 miles from Central London. It now falls under the local authority area of Greater London, but was originally a part of the County of Surrey. The name of the town is derived from an Anglo-Saxon word Waletone, which denotes a ‘village of the Britons’. Its position on the River Wandle helps to lend a peaceful tranquillity and natural beauty to the entire area. Today, Wallington enjoys a booming economy, thanks to the presence of several major banks, large retail stores and shopping complexes in the vicinity.

Business Information

Its location and fast transport links into London have prompted several large retailers to have a major presence in the region. Popular retail brands that are also major employers in the area include Boots, Sainsbury’s, Pizza Express, Dorothy Perkins and W H Smith. Notable businesses that occupy office space in the vicinity include real estate agencies, financial institutions, software designers and investment analysts.

Entertainment And Dining Out

The Grange and The Red Lion are two of the most popular pubs in the area, providing unique entertainment into the evening. In addition to great beer and an ambience, you can look forward to some interesting stories from locals who are regulars to these establishments. When hunger strikes you can rest assured that you will find a great place to eat. Coombe Lodge and Albert’s Table compete to serve the best fish and chips. If you’re seeking international fare instead, you can head to Bella Italia for delectable pasta and pizzas.

Transport Information
