Chelsea is a city in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, in the United States. It is located across the Mystic River, just four miles from the city of Boston. This is the smallest city in Massachusetts in space, yet it is the 26th most densely populated city in the country. Chelsea is home to one of the Carnegie Libraries built in 1910.
Chelsea shares in the city of Boston’s economic base, which includes tourism, research, manufacturing, finance, and biotechnology. The surrounding area offers the Milken Institute, a research center, and many banks and investment companies. One building of note is the Congregation Agudath Shalom, also known as the Walnut Street Synagogue or the Walnut Street Shul. There is a series of wall and ceiling frescoes in the building that were painted by Jewish immigrant artists. The Torah Ark was carved and created by a noted Boston-area cabinetmaker and is an incredible piece of work. Dining options in Chelsea include Curly’s Restaurant, Los Amigos, and El Santaneco. Floramo’s Fifth Avenue Restaurant is known for its meat that falls off the bone and offers a range of barbecue and Italian dishes that prove to be very popular with the locals and anyone that visits.
