The North End is a neighborhood in Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States. This is Boston’s oldest residential community. People have lived in this neighborhood since it was settled in the 1630s. This small, one-third square mile area has over a hundred restaurants and a large selection of things to see and do. The North End of Boston is often referred to as Little Italy, due to its large Italian-American population.
Boston and the North End are largely dependent on tourism, manufacturing, finance, research, and biotechnology. Large corporations that are headquartered in the city of Boston include Fidelity Investments, Houghton Mifflin, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Gillette, New Balance, the Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, and Bain Capital. There are many locations throughout the North End of Boston for serviced offices.
One of the great places to spend time in this area of Boston is the HarborWalk. Stretching from the Boston Harbor Hotel along the Downtown wharves to Puopolo Park in the North End you will find some of the best attractions that the city has to offer. HarborWalk features a vibrant mix of cultural and recreational opportunities with the New England Aquarium, Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park, and the Mirabella Pool. Dining options in the North End of Boston include Mamma Maria, Al Dente, Terramia Ristorante, Lucca Restaurant, Bacco Ristorante & Bar, La Dolce Vita, and Gennaro’s Five North Square.
The nearest major airport to the North End is Logan International Airport. This airport has international and domestic flights and is 4 miles from the center of Boston. Another major airport in the area is Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, offering domestic flights from Manchester, New Hampshire, 53 miles from the North End. Two additional airports serving the area include New Bedford Regional Airport with domestic flights from New Bedford, Massachusetts, within 55 miles of the city, and T. F. Green Airport with international and domestic flights from Providence, Rhode Island, just 60 miles from Boston. Boston’s public transportation serves the North End and consists of commuter rail, train, bus, and water shuttles. The rapid-transit system serves the core city and many of the suburbs.
Prices typically are all-inclusive of utilities costs, broadband, meeting room access, and are exempt from business rates (package varies per office).
