Issaquah is a city in King County in the state of Washington. It has been ranked by Forbes magazine, to be the 2nd fastest-growing suburb in the state. This area offers live theater, an active part in northwest history, a downtown fish hatchery, chocolate factory, winery, boutiques, antiques, a zoo, and annual Salmon Days festival.

Business Information

Issaquah is the headquarters of Costco, the world’s largest retail company and warehouse club. Numerous smaller companies operate from Issaquah and the town offers many well managed buildings where it is possible to rent office space.

Entertainment And Dining Out

In the mountains surrounding Issaquah, there is an area known as the Issaquah Alps, which are comprised of Tiger Mountain, Cougar Mountain, and Squak Mountain. This large green space features a vast selection of hiking trails, and several options for outdoor activities. Cougar Mountain Zoo covers 8-acres on the northern slope of Cougar Mountain. Nasha, the compounds tiger, is a popular draw for the zoo. Downtown, the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery sits on the Issaquah Creek within the city limits. The hatchery is owned and operated by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife and raises millions of fish before releasing them into the wild. Triple XXX used to be a very popular restaurant chain; today Issaquah has the unusual distinction of being home to the last two restaurants of its kind in the US. The food consists of Triple XXX root beer, burgers, chicken, and seafood.

Transport Information

The nearest airport to Issquah is Kenmore Air Harbor Seaplane Base. This airport is 19 miles from the city center and provides fast connections to nearby nautical destinations. Another useful airport is King County International Airport, which operates domestic flights and is 21 miles away. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport offers additional domestic and international flights from the area. Issaquah is bisected by Interstate 90, which runs from Seattle to Boston. Washington State Route 900 connects the city to neighboring Renton.
