Regus to launch new Birmingham offices

Regus, the world’s largest supplier of flexible office space, is set to open its fourth business centre in the regional centre of Birmingham, having confirmed the signing of a lease in the Meadow Brook complex.

The new business centre covers 15,000 sq ft of the Meadow Brook South building on the outskirts of the UK's second city. The office is set to open by autumn 2013, following an extensive refurbishment project to bring the centre in line with the functionality and branding of other Regus centres.

The space was vacated by communications and cloud computing providers Momentum Telecom, who have streamlined their activities and reduced the amount of space they require in order to conduct their business. Regus’ latest agreement ensures the complex remains fully leased.

Regus, which already employs 11 members of staff in the wider metropolitan area, plan to hire a further three representatives to man the new office, according to Regus’ southern division area director, Jamie Beedle.

The landlord, Lord Baltimore Properties, was represented by Jerry Grant of real estate managers Daniel Corp. Regus was represented by Colliers International’s new senior director Anita Turner, who was operating on behalf of real estate services firm, Jones Lang LaSalle, throughout the negotiations.

Today's news follows on from yesterday's announcement of the initial strategy for Birmingham's £1.2bn Enterprise Zone project, which was unveiled by Chancellor George Osborne and Lord Heseltine at City Hall.
