Horsholm is a town on Denmark’s Oresund coast, approximately 15 miles north of Copenhagen. The town covers most of Horsholm Municipality and straddles the borders of the neighbouring Fredensborg-Humlebaek and Rudersdal Municipalities. Horsholm has a comparatively low rate of income tax and is close to the sea and swathes of ancient woodland. Because of these attributes Horsholm is attractive to wealthy households. The rail stations of Rungsted Kyst, and Kokkedal on the coast, are located on Kystbanen and served by the Oresund trains which continue on to Copenhagen Airport, and then across the Oresund Bridge to Sweden. The Horsholm Highway is Denmark’s oldest highway and connects Horsholm to Copenhagen in the south and Helsingor in the north.
