Pasig City is one of the oldest cities located in the Philippines. It is one of the city municipalities located along the eastern border of Metro Manila. Pasig is primarily a residential and industrial area, with an increase in commercial areas in the last few years. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Pasig is home to the Pasig Cathedral, formerly The Immaculate Conception Cathedral, and a landmark that has stood in the city since 1573.

Pasig is home to factories, warehouses, establishments, and commercial facilities. This is home to The University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), one of the most exclusive universities in the country. The headquarters for the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the Philippine Stock Exchange is located in Pasig along ADB Avenue. The Food Court of the Tiendesitas flea market is a popular hangout, featuring live bands that perform on a large stage. The entertainment is free. On Sunday’s the Bughaw Cultural Dance Group regularly performs, allowing visitors to witness traditional Filipino dances. The food court offers a wide variety of National and regional Filipino cuisine.

Transport Information

The nearest major airport to Pasig is Ninoy Aquino International Airport. This airport has international and domestic flights and is 14 km (8 miles) from the city centre. Another major airport in the area is Clark International Airport, which operates international and domestic flights from Angeles, Philippines. It is 89 km (55 miles) from Pasig City. The jeepney is a great way to get around the city. This a converted surplus army jeep, decorated and used as taxi-like transportation. The city is also served by the Manila LRT Purple Line 3 at the Santolan terminus.
