Bad Homburg, –or to give it its full name, Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, is a city in Hesse Land, a state in west-central Germany. Situated at the foot of the wooded Taunus, Bad Homburg is a short distance north of Frankfurt. The city is best known for its medical spas and the mineral waters and saline springs used to treat various disorders, especially heart and circulatory diseases. This popular ‘Bad’ or ‘bath’ has attracted commoners and royalty from all over the world since Roman times. Bad Homburg also attracts visitors to its casino.

Bad Homburg is one of the wealthiest cities in Germany. This great economic outlook is partially due to its vicinity to Frankfurt, as many of the directors and employees of the Frankfurt banks live in Bad Homburg. It is in this area you will find the Federal Debt Administration, the Office for Security Adjustment, and the Federal Equalisation Office. Bad Homburg’s leading industries include the spa and high-technology firms that produce both computer software and hardware. Entertainment And Dining Out

One of the most relaxing ways to spend your time in Bad Homburg is at one of the spas. Taunus Therme is a large recreation area, offering several pools, a sauna, solarium, and a health centre. While you are relaxing, you can also take advantage of their TVs, the cinemas, and two restaurants. One of the best dining options in Bad Homburg is Sängers Restaurant. Offering local food lovers and spa devotees a highly personal and inventive menu, this is one of the best places in town to eat. The two elegant dining rooms are decorated in the style of 18th-century England. Menu items can include Carpaccio of turbot with Iranian caviar, goose-liver terrine served with brioche and gelatine of wild berries, a foam-capped celery soup with quail eggs, and roast breast of duck on a bed of rhubarb. You will want to leave room for dessert.
