Cincinnati is the third largest city in the State of Ohio and The Cincinnati Metropolitan Area is the largest within the State. Cincinnati is sometimes thought of as the first ‘purely American city’ as it was the first major city founded after the American Revolution. The city itself is known for its large offering of historic architecture, with Over-the-Rhine housing one of the world s most extensive collections of Italian architecture. Over-the-Rhine was the hub for German immigrants for a number of years, and is one of the largest historic districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Cincinnati operates a fantastic park system, which is currently ranked 4th in the nation. It boasts that any city resident is within 1 mile of a park. There are plentiful amenities within the city, including retail outlets, banks, libraries, convenience stores, restaurants and coffee shops.

The Cincinnati Masters is also hosted here, as is the Flying Pig Marathon, the Macy s Music Festival, and the Thanksgiving Day race. Theater has been a popular pass-time in Cincinnati since the 1800’s and is as vibrant as ever. There are various theater companies located in the area and these include Ensemble Theater Cincinnati, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and the Know Theater of Cincinnati.
